What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a condition where endometrial tissue, which lines the inside of the uterus, grows on other parts of the body such as the fallopian tubes or ovaries. This can cause discomfort and pain, and is usually experienced by women throughout the entirety of their reproductive cycle. It can affect the pelvic area too and cause painful periods, pain during intercourse, infertility, exhaustion, and depression.
