We are thrilled to announce four promotions across our professional negligence, contentious probate, medical negligence and serious injury teams.
Effective May 2025, we have promoted Michael Young, based in Birmingham, and John Tunnard, based in Bristol, to partner, while Leicester-based Harkiran Takhar has been promoted to associate.
Serious injury lawyer Vicky Blodwell, based in Birmingham, has also been promoted into the membership of legal and professional services group Ampa, which we are part of.
Michael, a highly-regarded professional negligence expert, has more than 15 years’ experience handling high-value, complex cases, particularly in property and finance. With a strong background in commercial litigation, he is well-versed at guiding clients throughout the entirety of the negligence claim process. He offers strategic advice on funding arrangements and after-the-event insurance, while maintaining a sharp focus on clients’ objectives through both advocacy and mediation.
Contentious probate expert John specialises in high-stakes cases in the High Court, County Court and Court of Protection, focusing on the validity and interpretation of wills and trusts, Inheritance Act claims and associated claims by and against estates, trustee and executor removal claims, and disputes arising out of the management of trusts and estates and under powers of attorney and deputyships. Drawing on his background as a private client solicitor, John advises on tax matters and non-contentious procedures surrounding caveats, limited grants, and issues arising out of complex intestate estates.
Harkiran represents individuals who have suffered from medical negligence by hospitals, GPs, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. She deals with a range of matters including delays in diagnosing and treating cancer, cases involving gynaecological injury such as unnecessary hysterectomies, and injuries suffered following traumatic births, labour and ectopic pregnancies. Harkiran has also dealt with cases involving stillbirths, and has assisted in more complex claims involving child birth injuries, such as cerebral palsy, and TVT/TOT mesh insertion.
Tony Hannington, partner and head of Lime Solicitors, said: “We are delighted to celebrate the well-deserved promotions of Michael, John, Harkiran and Vicky. They each play an integral role in the Lime Solicitors team, and their expertise, dedication and commitment to excellence have been truly outstanding, making a significant impact on both our clients and colleagues.
“These promotions are a testament to their hard work and the opportunities available for career progression within our firm. We are excited to see them thrive in their new roles, further strengthening our team as we continue our mission to be the go-to firm for individuals seeking expert legal advice and support.”
