Our client’s family is demanding answers after their mother’s jewellery disappeared while she was receiving treatment in hospital. 71-year-old Suzanne Edwards was admitted to Milton Keynes Hospital in November 2024 with left-sided pain, a urinary tract infection and severe sickness. She was discharged but her condition worsened and she was taken to Bedford Hospital the following day. This is the hospital from where her jewellery has gone missing.
The family’s loss has been compounded by the uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of Suzanne’s death. The family has instructed us to investigate whether there has been medical negligence, seeking answers on whether her death could have been prevented.
Our legal director Natalizia Capizzi said: “We are thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding the medical care provided to Suzanne while under the care of the NHS. This case raises serious concerns about the processes in place to protect vulnerable individuals.”
The family has described Suzanne as “an unbelievably kind and caring woman with a wicked sense of humour and fun”. She leaves behind her husband, two children and two granddaughters.
