Tina’s story: Settlement for elderly patient injured due to hospital negligence

Our medical negligence experts have secured a settlement for Tina, an elderly woman who suffered serious injuries and trauma after a series of falls at a hospital.

Tina was admitted to the defendant hospital in early 2020 due to worsening vision and confusion. Despite her fragile condition, hospital staff failed to assess her properly for fall risks or provide the needed supervision.

While under the hospital’s care, Tina fell twice within two days. The second fall left her with a fractured hip, leading to surgery and extended recovery time. Instead of returning home, she had to be transferred to a rehabilitation care home, where further lapses in care contributed to her decline.

The settlement we secured compensates Tina for the pain, extended recovery and vision loss she endured due to lapses in basic hospital care. It will fund her ongoing medical and rehabilitation needs, helping her regain independence and improve her quality of life.
